Towels

Cold towels have been a hallmark of the Summer Kick-Off Fun Run almost since the second year of the run (1993).  Tom Denny and his family have been the head and heart of the towel crew for most of those years.  He has perfected the technique so that none of the runners have to wait for that coveted towel and he can guarantee every one will be cold.  This page is dedicated to Tom and his crew for dedication and service to the run.  Unfortunately it is not accompanied with a cash award.  Thank you Tom.

The lull before the storm.  Tom, Debbie, and Dakota getting a few minutes rest before the work begins.

The process begins.  Tom has two pools going to keep up with the demand and to make sure the towels are cold.

Ice, ice, and more ice.  Tom is pretty easy to work with.  Just don't tell him he can't have more ice.

Tom, Angie, and Debbie working the towel trailer.

Angie checking the towel temperature no doubt.  I know, more ice, more ice.

I think we've seen these guys before.  Still doesn't look too busy yet.

Looks like Angie's sons will be able to take over when Tom gets too old.

That looks like a satisfied customer.  Amazing how good a cold towel feels when you've run 5K on a warm day.  Ok, hot day.

Alex Jones learning the tricks of the trade early.  And he also ran the Kid's K.
